My Average Day

I have an email asking me what my average day was like - how much time I spend earning on the web and what my income was.  I've decided the best way to answer that is by recording my day and tallying up at the end, so here goes...

9.00am-9.30am - Time for a coffee!  I turn on the computer and head straight over to Inbox Dollars.  My first 5 searched of the day will be found through this site, which will earn me $0.06.  The site I search for is  Slice the Pie!  And over the next 30 minutes I drink my coffee and listen to music - posting reviews as I listen.  I posted 8 reviews and made $1.89.

9.30am-10.00am - I look at my Adf.ly account and my AdSense, noting that I made $0.21 and $0.89, respectively, before turning my attention to the boring part of the morning... my Paid To Click sites.  I have 6 of these on the go at the moment (2 because of the PTC Experiment) and the rest being tested for a review on the blog. NeoBux made me about $0.50 with referrals (in the last 24 hours) and the rest which includes the likes of ClixSense, PTCBox and BuxP have probably made only $0.25, with varying numbers of personal and referral clicks. It takes 30 minutes to get through this lot, partly because I have an increasing number of referrals to manage.

10.00am-4.00pm - It's time to do what I get paid for and go to work.  I'll complete this post later!  Still to do: forums, more music reviews, and surveys.

4.00pm-4.45pm - I decide to check out e-rewardsValued Opinions and NPolls find a couple of surveys.  Surveys are one of the most profitable ways to make money on the internet and in 1 hour I have made £1.50 on Valued Opinions, $0.20 on NPolls  and the equivalent of $2 on e-rewards.  Usually if I can't find surveys on these sites there are others I will check out.

4.45pm-5.30pm - This is the last stint on me earning on the internet for the day and I spend it on Slice the Pie, earning a further $2.51, but also seeing that my referrals have been busy and added a further $0.38 to that sum.

In total today:

  • Adverts = $1.10
  • PTCs = $0.75
  • Surveys = $4.20
  • Music reviewing = $4.40
Grand total = $10.45 for 2.5 hours work, though there are other days when this can be higher this seems average, bringing in $70-75 per week (quite a nice 2nd income earned for the time most people send on Facebook).

Mobile Phone Survey Apps

The Internet of course is not restricted to static locations, in fact the majority of Internet browsing is conducted "on the move" using mobile devices.

There are apps (usually surveys) where you can earn money, but the majority of these either do not pay or   are scams that pay rarely/never.  So, to keep things simple I'm just going to list a few to avoid and and then 1 you should try (which is what I'm currently doing).

I'm an Android user, so that biases the ones I list here, however...

Avoid:
  • AppRedeem - this is one of those site that might pay you once, but then start to fail on you.  It is very buggy, has terrible support/admin and will waste more time than I care to say.
  • iPinion - this site make you fill in 2 surveys before giving zero surveys for you to do.  This makes it impossible to cashout and you are left realising that you've wasted 5 minutes of your time and space on your phone.  I checked this twice a day for a month, with not a single survey being available.
  • Valued Opinions - now I rate this site, they are on my list of trusted sites, but their mobile app is rubbish, offering very few surveys.  The app itself is good for checking your online balance and I hope it improves.
Try:
  • NPolls - there seems to be a new poll every other day and every other poll pays ($0.20).  You need $10 to cash out and I'm currently 2 weeks into a test ($1.00 on my balance), so will inform you if they pay.  But it's a tidy app, has good support and worth giving a go.

Valued Opinions

Valued Opinions is a survey site.  The more surveys you complete, and the longer the survey, the more you earn.  You don't earn cash, but you do earn vouchers.

There are 21 different types of voucher to choose from: including amazon, John Lewis, TopShop and many more.  In fact the fact that it's vouchers isn't a problem if you want to convert them to cash, because you can often sell vouchers on ebay for only a small discount on their actual worth (i.e. sell a £10 voucher for £9).

I have completed survey ranging from 5 minutes, earning £0.50, to 4 day diaries (20 minutes total time), earning £20!

The site I use is British, but they are a worldwide company, so see what is local to you and use them.

So far I have cashed out over £100 in vouchers and will continue to use this site.  Personally, I take Amazon vouchers and put them in y account.  When I pop on to Amazon I'm often surprised by how much I have and indulge myself a little more.  It's a great way of saving.

They have also recently released a mobile application, allowing you to complete surveys on the go (earn on the bus to work?)  There aren't many surveys suitable for mobiles at the moment but this likely to be a growth area for them.

I've added a payment proof below and placed Valued Opinions on the Certified Sites page.  Let me know your experience with Valued Opinions.
